Social Media Coordinator/Manager (depending on experience)


Department:

Integrated Digital Marketing

Reports to:

Digital Marketing Strategist/Associate Strategist

●DMS/DMAS reports to Director DM

Direct Reports:

Community Engagement Coordinator (staffer or student intern)

Position Summary:

The Social Media Coordinator/Manager will support digital marketing efforts for our beauty and wellness accounts. They have the important function of building out client content and leveraging our Data Driven Creativity process. They are passionate about beauty and wellness and understand the Digital Marketing ecosystem. They actively participate within the digital ecosystem and are beauty/wellness consumers themself. The Social Media Coordinator/Manager will support client programs and will be an expert on using our best-in-class tools and will build content utilizing key insights to drive growth. The Social Media Coordinator/Manager will bring new thinking to our team.

Specific Responsibilities:

Client Onboarding

  • Connect client social accounts to Brandwatch using brand provided credentials
  • Create staging account as part of new client onboarding process
  • Update BBCA Social Media University Deck & present with CEC to client during kickoff time period
  • Add CEC and Strategist to client accounts on Brandwatch


Content Ideation

  • Contribute to monthly brainstorms and take comprehensive notes.
  • Curate and expand on team ideas into all monthly content deliverables for review by the Strategist


Stories:

  • Add all planned native features to story when posting
  • Concept and brief design team and copywriter. Review and present to the Strategist.


Content Briefing & Management

  • As needed, as directed by Strategist, brief and manage the content creation process with the design team, copywriters and creators


Reels/TikToks

  • Production- Using provided mobile device, film lofi video content following concept brief
  • Post Production - Use app (TikTok, CapCut, Canva, IG Reels, etc) tools to edit, add text, music, etc following concept brief. Ideate and create content via native platform tools


Community Management

  • Check Brandwatch feeds & tagged posts for unanswered interactions
  • Review refreshed CM responses from CECs for FAQs (weekly confirmation of updates with new FAQs)
  • Weekly CEC responsibilities check-in
  • Escalate any concerns to the Strategist for discussion


Best in Class Tools

  • Ongoing participation in webinars & trainings to enhance knowledge as these tools update and upgrade their offerings (initial trainings on all Brandwatch modules, attend monthly Brandwatch syncs, training on any new Brandwatch or other tool features)
  • Ongoing expertise building with Brandwatch, Tagger, Canva, etc.
  • Share insights with DM Slack channel


Management

  • Ongoing testing of content in Staging prior to posting/scheduling. Escalate any content concerns to Strategist.
  • Alert PSM when new content has been added
  • Schedule all content in our Tools - conduct daily spot checks to ensure work launches (users tagged, location added, correct line breaks, products tagged, correct resolution, correct thumbnails, no typos, consistent hashtag format) accurately
  • Accountability for all content going live timely & correctly
  • Ensure final assets, both agency created and client provided content, are added to the proper Google or Dropbox folder.
  • Native posting of any content that can’t be scheduled in Brandwatch
  • Review Program Success Manager's project schedules to reality check timelines and bring up any concerns on internal status calls


Holistic Monthly Reporting

  • Presenting top 5 monthly insights to overall internal team once a month on status calls so all experts and creatives can leverage the learning
  • Present key reporting insights to client team once a month on client status call
  • Deliver key data to Strategist to inspire monthly strategies
  • Leveraging Brandwatch and native platforms to create holistic monthly/quarterly reporting in collaboration with CEC, PR, Influencer, Paid (if necessary) (reporting cadence dependent on client)


Coverage

  • Strategist backup coverage (when Strategist is on vacation/sick) ie. content reviews, content approvals and review with VP, client status calls
  • Community Management backup coverage (when Community Engagement Coordinator or Intern is on vacation/sick)


What it takes to succeed at Base Beauty

  • Brand voice, accurate grammar/spelling in all communications
  • Flexible, determined, team player with a positive attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate in different styles to convey appropriate voice when switching between brand accounts
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Client’s products, ingredients, how to use, where to buy, etc
  • At least 1 year's professional experience in a social media role, agency-experience preferred
  • Ability to work proactively, and use initiative for Client involvement in moments that matter
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills
  • Accountable and organized with the ability to handle a multitude of projects.
  • Strong creative skills, to be highly detailed-oriented and provide unprompted follow-through.
  • High-level attention to detail, accuracy and sense of urgency (social media is a fast-paced world!)
  • Ability to successfully and frequently partner with internal resources to help drive content expansion to optimizing digital-first programs
  • Ability to demonstrate ownership of programs; embracing both big picture objectives while owning in-depth detail of each program and project
  • The ability to work well independently, self-starter and self-motivated
  • Firm understanding of social media platform limitations and capabilities (Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Pinterest, etc)

The salary for this role has been budgeted at $58,500-65,000/year commensurate with experience.
