Key Responsibilities


The Social Media Assistant Manager will be a key member of the CeraVe Digital team, playing an instrumental part in the strategy, execution and optimization of CeraVe’s presence across paid and organic social media. Reporting to the Social Media Lead, this role will be responsible for assisting with content strategy and asset development, calendar management, paid social campaign content/setup and ongoing reporting and analysis to inform future programs.


The position will work collaboratively with the marketing and media teams, as well as cross-functionally with other key brand stakeholders as well as external teams (global/DMI, CDMO, agencies, creative partners, etc.) in support of programs and product launches to drive the success of the business. Existing skincare knowledge or a high level of interest within the métier is key to success. They should have an eye on the marketplace and an understanding of social content that resonates in the US, with a knack for identifying emerging trends and clear understanding of reporting on metrics related to social KPIs.


Organic & Paid Social Media


  • Organize social content calendar & feedback against US business objectives, while ensuring that all product claims are legally compliant.
  • Oversee brand community engagement across channels
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams (including but not limited to Media, PR/Influencer, Marketing and DMI teams)
  • Prepares assets and develops content to achieve paid social goals, as briefed by the media team
  • Liaise with community management agency, CCC, labs, legal and marketing to generate approved responses to customer service inquiries
  • Assist in managing agency focused on social strategy and community management


Digital Content


  • Work with manager as day-to-day contact for creative partners (internal & external) for content development, delivery and asset management
  • Work with manager to identify emerging social trends & brief designer on content with brand voice to animate non-launch/in-market products
  • Liaise with social content agency to ensure briefs are submitted on time, production timelines & final asset delivery are completed quarterly.
  • Assist on set of all social shoots – both video and photo with duties including prop + production assistance, wardrobe, casting + BTS captures.
  • Assist in managing creator campaigns in collaboration with CeraVe Influencer lead, media, and other cross functional teams (internal & external)
  • Consolidates and coordinates creative feedback on behalf of the CeraVe digital and marketing teams on all campaign content
  • Assist with asset management for the digital team (OPERA, internal & external)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners from global, marketing, media, and PR/Influencer to amplify and support tentpole campaigns
  • Develop consumer-centric content, partnering with production companies and internal stakeholders to enhance the brand’s presence on social
  • Understand the brand’s unique medical positioning and stay true to brand equity through all digital and social content


Reporting & Analysis


  • Utilize Netbase for trends tracking to inform larger Marketing team of opportunities to create nimble social content based on rising and declining trends in products, ingredients, etc.
  • Work with manager to create monthly reporting template - reporting to all teams on KPI’s, audience growth, engagement, etc.
  • Understanding of LUSA dashboards and reporting for digital team meetings
  • Perform social listening to monitor brand’s net sentiment. Identify relevant conversations and communities to engage with to increase favorability.


Job Requirements & Qualifications


  • Self-starter able to adapt quickly to changes in priorities and multi-task multiple projects.
  • Professional communication skills to work closely with internal teams and agency partners.
  • Professional and diplomatic style with a positive manner, attention to detail and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Social Media & Content Development for a brand (in-house or agency)
  • Excellent written skills, with attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in communications, marketing or business.
  • Skincare experience and interest in fields related to health, beauty and dermatology preferred
  • Able to prioritize and manage time effectively, and to balance competing demands and priorities in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and extraordinary collaborative team spirit with ability to navigate complex team matrix.
