Site Quality Technician (m/f/d)

Position Summary:
As a Site Quality Technician, you will provide technical guidance and training as per Nordex instructions for inspections to subcontractors.
Responsibilities:
- Investigates root causes of non-conformities.
- Coordinates with Nordex Engineering and QA Departments to resolve Non-Conformance issues encountered during assembly, erection, and commissioning
- Electrical termination
- Cleanliness
- Workmanship
- Performs Quality Lead responsibilities in the Quality Lead’s absence.
- Provides guidance on the mechanical and electrical completion of the turbines regarding:
- Cleanliness
- Condition and presence of subcomponents
- Electrical termination
- Workmanship
- Generates and presents periodic reports to the Nordex supplier management team.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Condition and presence of subcomponents
- Creates nonconforming material reports to supplier quality group and/or suppliers for corrective actions.
- Creates clear and legible reports for nonconformities requiring additional information showing the condition of material compared to specifications.

Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to organize/prioritize work, meet deadlines, and prepare plans and reports
- Analytical skills – must be able to reach conclusions and make recommendations based on collected data
- Ability to spend 100% of the time at the wind farms during the construction process
- Demonstrated ability to read mechanical/electrical blueprints
- Computer skills including MS Office
- WTG on-site assembly experience preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical/construction supervisory experience; Wind Farm mechanical construction experience preferred
- Experience in quality management and quality control processes; Wind Turbine Assembly experience preferred
- High School diploma required
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position
- Represent the company in a professional manner
- Ability to meet specific OSHA and ANSI weight limits of 265 lbs. or less
- Ability to interface with customers and contractors
- Ability to get a Transportation Worker Identification Credential, also known as TWIC® preferred
- Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
- Associate Degree or equivalent degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
- 80% to 100% travel required
- An Associate or equivalent degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
- Travel nationally and internationally to project sites and on business as required and the ability to obtain a passport
