Responsibilities

• Communicates with purchasing to be able to identify possible shortages of inbound raw materials
• Ensure physical movements are recorded properly in the ERP
• Communicates with production team to identify issues in inventory storage and flow
• Daily communication with plant staff advising each item/order that needs to be completed to meet the shipping deadlines.
• Works with production team to identify inventory gaps
• Collaborates with Sr. Shipping Lead to ensure weekly shipping/load plan is executed.
• Analyze freight costs and loads to determine cost savings opportunities.
• Analyze plant needs and suggest improvements to inventory and warehouse processes to align with lean principles and best practices
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed in all aspects of the job functions and ensure that the team also follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Manages a team of employees related to the shipping, receiving, warehouse and inventory functions.
• Works closely with the Master Planner in order to effectively plan loads for on-time shipping.
• Works with quality and buying group to ensure quality product is received and raise issues when there are quality issues so that the vendors are aware
• Responsible for bin/location management within the ERP
• Helps to identify obsolete material and recommend disposition
• Provide inventory and warehouse reports as requested
• Ability to investigate inventory transactional history for corrective action
• Owns KPIs related to shipping, receiving, warehousing and related functions.
• Works with the supply chain group to help minimize inventory costs
• Work with material handling group to ensure efficient and on-time movement of inventory between locations and warehouses as to not disrupt production, shipping or receiving operations.
• Utilizes AX TMS, Recon, and load center TMS to build shipments and determine the most cost effective method of shipping keeping in mind customer requirements.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.) required
• Understanding of inventory/warehouse management concepts and processes
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 or more years of inventory/warehouse management/shipping in manufacturing is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred..
• Knowledge and ability to leverage technology.
• Ability to analyze data from various systems to get to opportunity/root cause.
• Can balance between the customer needs and company objectives.
• Familiarity with working in an ERP environment (i.e. Dynamics AX, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles preferred
