Senior VP of Operations and Strategy - Cannabis Manufacturing/Production experience required
Job Summary:
As the SVP of Operations and Strategy, you will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring operational efficiency. You will lead and oversee the development and implementation of strategies, processes, and systems to optimize our operations, enhance productivity, and deliver superior quality products. This role requires a strong understanding of the cannabis industry, best in class production practices, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute the strategy, work, and priorities to drive continuous improvement across all of production operations.
2. Develop operating objectives and goals for each manager and operating department, including production, new facility development, supply chain, and equipment acquisitions.
3. Identify and implement best practices, process improvements, and cost reduction initiatives throughout the organization, focusing on areas such as procurement, production, supply chain, logistics, and quality control.
4. Lead teams to define and achieve operational excellence goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with company's strategic initiatives.
5. Develop and implement GMP and other quality control programs, policies and procedures across production facilities, including conducting inspections and audits, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
6. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
7. Collaborate with compliance team on quality and service standards, quality assurance processes, and compliance on all policies, standards, and values.
8. Conduct data analysis and process mapping to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
9. Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders to streamline processes, reduce waste, optimize use of labor and other resources, and enhance productivity.
10. Collaborating with the CEO and President, design and optimize facilities in existing and expansion markets, and work with outside vendors to ensure all projects are completed on time and within budgets.
11. Drive a culture of continuous improvement by providing training, coaching, and mentoring to employees at all levels, fostering a mindset of operational excellence.
12. Lead initiatives related to operational excellence, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget, and achievement of desired outcomes.
13. Work with the Leadership Team to shape operations and production strategy and ensure alignment with the Operations department.
14. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, emerging technologies, and proactively apply relevant knowledge to drive innovation and competitiveness.
