Job Summary
- Craft training program agendas, course announcements and materials, maintain and promote CAP course catalog and training calendar. Develop high quality training materials for both facilitated and e-learning/virtual courses. Regularly communicate and promote training opportunities to the organization.
- Keep abreast of best practices; integrate that knowledge into training and talent development efforts and suggestions for agency approaches to this space.
- Contribute to measuring return on investment (ROI) of agency learning activities. Help measure the effectiveness of training courses/initiatives. Administer evaluations, surveys and assessment tools; synthesize and compile data reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
- Respond effectively to training requests from agency staff. Respond to employee requests about transcripts, training records, enrollment, training calendar, enrolling/un-enrolling in courses. Help enter, track, and manage course enrollment data.
- Collaborate with HROD team and agency leaders to deliver, refine, and evaluate leadership development training and initiatives for both existing and aspiring leaders. Implement and oversee selection process for Aspiring Leader Program; serve as point person to carry out this Program and ensure a meaningful experience for participants. Measure attrition and Program success.
- Devise and deliver various training to staff, both in face-to-face and e-learning/virtual formats. In collaboration with other members of the HROD team, agency leaders, and internal business partners, help identify and deliver training solutions that can address known issues and optimize team performance. Use data from needs assessments, employee surveys, aggregated performance data, and other available instruments to recommend effective training design and delivery to meet identified needs. Training areas will include but are not limited to: essential skills, leadership development, performance management, and DEI.
- Coordinate and facilitate the agency’s new employee orientation (NEO) and manager orientation programs in addition to creating, providing, and measuring additional staff training at and for all levels of the organization. Evaluate opportunities for blended leaning approaches and implement as necessary. Schedule training locations; ensure proper set-up for NEO and other trainings. Help schedule training locations and broker receipt of services from additional outside trainers (as necessary). Work with Early Childhood Program, Purchasing, Marketing, and other stakeholders to plan, prepare for, and implement training events.
- Provide redundancy on LMS tasks in Cornerstone.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Organizational Development or related field, or eight years of commensurate experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience with e-learning authoring systems preferred; experience with Articulate helpful.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with LMS preferred, experience with Cornerstone helpful.
- Three or more years of related work experience with emphasis on designing, developing, and facilitating adult learning programs and related organizational development initiatives.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions with ability to read, interpret, and present information efficiently and effectively.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality of extremely sensitive data, records, files, conversations, etc. Intermediate- MS Office skills
- Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to completing assignments on a timely basis.
- Must be able to accurately audit records and ensure compliance with written or oral guidelines.
- Must have proven successful interpersonal relationship skills to maintain effective and satisfactory working relationships with intra-department and inter-department staff, vendors, clients, visitors, and contractors.
- Ability to make presentations and deliver trainings to groups of various sizes, and to display competence and confidence when training and interacting with others.
