Requirements to work from home:

Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to oversee the Wholesale & Retail Energy Operations, Commodity Risk Management, and Hedging functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the energy industry, including wholesale and retail energy markets, commodity risk management, and hedging strategies.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies for managing commodity risks and hedging activities
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of strategies and objectives
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement overall business strategies and plans
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management on key performance indicators, risks, and opportunities. Provide Profit/Loss explanation related to retail portfolio and assist in variance explanation
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Wholesale & Retail Energy Operations, Commodity Risk Management, and Hedging functions
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to help guide their efforts to provide opportunities that are aligned with hedging options
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary resources and training to succeed
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including energy traders, brokers, and suppliers
  • Work closely with the Legal Team to draft customer-specific contract language as needed
  • Analyze market trends and identify opportunities to optimize energy portfolios and reduce risks


Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of VBA and SQL required. Python working knowledge is a positive
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
  • Analytical skills required for retail pricing, risk assessment, and transaction structuring
  • Strong working knowledge of Power ISO markets (ERCOT and PJM) along with Midwest and Mid-Atlantic gas markets.
  • 10+ years of experience in energy operations, commodity risk management, portfolio optimization, and hedging specific to the retail energy sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of energy trading, risk management, and hedging strategies
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as math, statistics, engineering, quantitative finance, or business; advanced degree preferred
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex market data
