Summary
This pharmacist position reports into Business Development Leadership and will have responsibility to work closely with the Business Development and Clinical Account Management teams to develop the appropriate formulary management and medical rebate strategy for the organization and current and prospective clients. This strategy may also include medical benefit drug management and our other Specialty offerings, as well as clinical initiatives that require close internal coordination with our Clinical and Manufacturer Relations groups. Will be able to develop and manage external relationships with customers, key thought leaders, and senior clinical staff at large health plans and other health care organizations. This role will oversee and develop a team of formulary strategy pharmacists. Will work well in a team environment to garner and manage the internal resources required to deliver client value. This position will ensure MagellanRx operates successfully in the healthcare marketplace.

• Works with team to edit proposal language to ensure incorporation of strategic themes, as well as compliance with operational and RFP requirements.
• Ensures all strategies are implemented in the most efficient manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Assists with the development of overall implementation strategy on a client specific basis to ensure contractual obligations are met and the financial objectives of the enterprise are achieved.
• Maintains relationships with industry thought leaders.
• Provides assistance in the implementation of initiatives.
• Collaborates with all clinical areas within the organization on all programs to ensure delivery of the highest clinical quality and integrity.
• Works closely with Manufacturer Relations and internal PBM partners to ensure maximum internal and external value.
• Provides sales support for Formulary Management and Medical Pharmacy.
• Collaborates to ensure new programs are executed to achieve the desired outcomes and efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• May substitute a managed care pharmacy residency for 5 years' experience,.
• Strong analytical and project management skills with ability to multi-task in an environment with changing priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and team player who respects colleagues.
• Ability to identify and solve problematic issues.
• Knowledge of prescription drugs, disease states, therapy classes, formulary management techniques, prescription plan benefit designs, current healthcare industry news and trends.
• Medical benefit drug management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Commercial, Managed Medicaid, and/or Health Care Reform requirements or willingness to learn.
• Ability to quickly learn various computer systems and software.
• 8+ years in managed care (health plan and/or PBM), including direct formulary and rebate management experience.
• Can meet short turnaround times with minimal oversight.
• Ability to take direction and self-manage day-to-day duties and tasks assigned.
• Proficiency in MS Office Product Suite.

Potential pay for this position ranges from $120,220.00 - $204,360.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
