Responsibilities


  • Within markets, identifying key customer segments, and corresponding high priority consumer/partner segments
  • For key segments: identifying product development/enhancement opportunities by analyzing win/loss results and through other means; then prioritizing high potential opportunities based on financial and strategic factors
  • Distilling strategic analysis into living market playbooks to facilitate knowledge transfer and alignment on strategic thinking across the organization with respect to target markets/segments, needs, differentiators, value drivers, roadmaps, etc.
  • Developing comprehensive 36-month product roadmaps by market, aligned with platform roadmaps, to support planning on the part of the development teams
  • Assessing market problems (opportunities) and trends by attending industry events, reading industry publications, and gathering market intelligence/feedback
  • Gathering and collecting sales and customer/prospect feedback to inform subsequent releases as well as product strategy
  • Tracking the competitive landscape to benchmark strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats from direct competitors, indirect competitors, and potential competitors
  • Builds/partners/acquires businesses that are a part of the product
  • Defining and managing the product roadmap
  • Strategic vision setting and long-term (high level) roadmap development
  • Driving and overseeing product opportunity identification, prioritization and development
  • Developing business cases to support product development ideas, particularly with respect to required investments as part of the prioritization planning process
  • Tracking products’ sales performance in-market across pipelines stages, against financial targets, profit targets, customer satisfaction targets (NPS), etc.
  • Identifying distinctive competencies that will continue to set the product apart
  • Driving and overseeing market strategy formulation
  • Develop product budget to enable achievement of the roadmap; track and ensure actuals are true against forecast through disciplined measurement plans
  • Driving and overseeing product pricing
  • Delivers financial and operational performance in line with plan
  • Ensure product commercial success
  • Tracking product wins/losses to understand gaps, opportunities, and priorities
  • Supporting the sales team in a subject matter expert capacity with respect to specific product
  • Feeding commercial intelligence back to the development teams for use in their planning and work
  • Assessing product’s relative strength and performance based on strategic and financial factors

Qualifications


A successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter who has worked in a regulated business (Finance or healthcare preferred, thrives in collaborative environments, and is excited about the challenge of driving early stage products to scale. Proven ability to develop product strategies from technical/market/business analyses, superior persuasive communication skills, broad business experience, and the tenacity to develop ideas independently will be central to this person’s success.


  • Highly developed communication and presentations skills with a superior ability to effectively communicate and present complex concepts and issues to leadership teams
  • Superior story-telling and communication skills to drive alignment at all levels
  • Experience defining vision and strategy for a technical product
  • 10+ years of experience with product management
  • Ability to lead change and adapt quickly to changing business landscape
  • Prior experience as an Agile Product Owner or leading scrum teams is preferred, with a deep understanding of agile.
  • Experience going through full product cycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements and driving prioritization
  • Enjoy being a thought leader who naturally challenges the status quo
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and ability to influence and build strong relationships across multiple levels of an organization
  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA or Master of Science preferred)
  • Proven ability to innovate and come up with ideas to help drive product forward
  • Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills and ability to track multiple deliverables with minimal direction
  • Knowledge and a passion for emerging technologies and how they empower businesses to deliver great products
  • Demonstrated success building/leading product organizations and delivering value (5+ years)
  • Curiosity, a can-do attitude and the ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to formulate compelling vision and strategy and translate that to actionable roadmaps and results.
  • Strong team management, leadership and coaching skills
  • Strong knowledge base and experience developing or managing digital platforms, coupled with knowledge of the underlying technology, both current and emerging

$210,101 - $315,141/ year. Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
