Job Description

Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Capital Partners to lead the development and implementation of all capital partner strategies for a start-up fintech company in the solar loan industry.


As the Director of Capital Partners, you will be responsible for establishing partnerships with new banks, credit unions, and funds to secure funding for the organization. Additionally, you will develop and execute comprehensive credit score goals, performance metrics, and benchmarks aligned with organizational goals and risk appetite.


The executive will directly report to the chief financial officer (CFO) and is primarily concerned with ensuring the integrated funding success of the organization.


Additional Duties / Candidate Background

  • Capital Partner Strategy: Identify and establish partnerships with banks, credit unions, and funds to expand our capital sources and support our growth in the solar loan industry. Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operational Officer (COO) to ensure the integrated funding success of our organization.


  • Proven experience in the solar loan industry and strong understanding of capital providers' underwriting process (paperwork, agreements and terms of services).


  • Credit Score Goals: Define and implement credit score goals, performance metrics, and benchmarks to evaluate the effectiveness of credit scoring models and strategies. Ensure alignment with overall organizational goals and risk appetite. Relationship with credit bureaus.


  • Credit Score Model: Collaborate with the technology team to develop and integrate credit score models into platform. This entails identifying essential information required from capital providers, including banks, credit unions, funds, and credit bureaus. Design efficient mechanisms to streamline the credit approval process and seamlessly incorporate it with our capital providers.


  • Partnership Development: Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential capital partners, including banks, credit unions, and funds.


  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Develop monitoring mechanisms to track the performance of capital partner strategies and credit scoring models. Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate key performance indicators, trends, and recommendations to executive management.


  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in capital partnerships and credit scoring. Continuously evaluate market conditions and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and potential risks.
