What’s the role?

Etsy is seeking a forward-thinking and organized Senior Manager, Community & Events to join our team. The Workplace Team is a global group with a diverse set of backgrounds in building management, design and space planning, operations, event planning, and food sourcing.

This role will be responsible for connecting employees to Etsy, our mission and impact, and to one another through engaging events, programs, and content that are globally consistent, locally relevant, and inclusive of our new hybrid way of working.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Workplace Services and the base salary range will be 126,000 - 164,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. What’s this team like at Etsy?

• This role will sit within the Services function which focuses on Facilities, Food Services and Community & Events
• The majority of the team sits in the Brooklyn HQ, with additional members in our CDMX and Dublin offices as well as a few remote employees.
• The Workplace team is composed of 20 members across the Real Estate, Safety, Gathering and Services teams.

What does the day-to-day look like?

• Remain up to date on trends and changes in employee engagement, including but not limited to competitor analysis and benchmarking
• Determine future tools and systems required for event management, impact engagement and other metrics of success.
• Determine appropriate metrics for areas of responsibilities and implement a system for routine monitoring and reporting.
• Manage the Community and Events team to execute on global events and collaborate with operations teams including Global Workplace Leads, Food Programming, Facilities, IT/AV, Safety, etc.
• Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.
• Oversee the global strategy and operations for centrally-organized events across our macro and micro cultures and communities.
• Experience sourcing external venues and event vendors
• Conceptualize and enable high quality production of hybrid, remote and IRL employee engagement programs and events.
• Contribute to the strategy and implementation of our communications and internal marketing campaigns for employee events and activities to ensure participation objectives are achieved
• Collaborate with ERGs, Learning & Development, EAs, Recruiting, S&O leads and other event organizers across the company to help them meet their event objectives.

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• Experience developing and mentoring a distributed team to become high performers
• The ability to be proactive and work autonomously, and also to collaborate with a team.
• Exceptional social and communication skills, a track record of internal and external relationship management, and the ability to form professional relationships across all areas and levels of the company.
• Experience with Mac products and Google Suite
• Bonus points for experience in event marketing and/or event design
• Masterful problem-solving skills, and an ability to adjust in an environment of shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
• 5-7 years of event experience and production background working in a global context
• A motivation to connect Etsy’s mission, values, and impact goals to the responsibilities of this role.
• A true multi-tasker, able to prioritize, implement, and lead all aspects of multiple simultaneous projects and programs, across time zones/offices.
