We consider a number of factors when making individual compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, and other business needs.  This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.


Position Summary


The Inbound Senior Logistics Analyst will support the progress of the managed freight program by developing and supporting relationships with suppliers, customers and freight carriers. This person will support the overall strategy of identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings within the inbound logistics department by working with internal and external stakeholders. This role will interact with all levels of the organization and the ability to be a self-starter is critical in this position.


Position Responsibilities May Include, But Not Limited To


  • Participate in process improvement and cost saving initiatives with internal purchasing and logistics stakeholders.
  • Apply tactical processes daily within the established business rules.
  • Execution of strategic procurement events as warranted, will provide insight into all areas of the supply chain.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Understand master data maintenance in the Transportation Management System and VIP ERP.
  • Interact with key stakeholders by phone, email or in person on an as needed basis.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify opportunities that offer strategic capacity.
  • Manage and understand billing, tariff and carrier rate structures.
  • Report on critical KPIs, including purchasing, supplier and carrier scorecards.
  • Understand and ensure carrier contract compliance.
  • Review and meet with key logistics supplier partner and understanding of opportunities within the business.
  • Ability to resolve situations quickly, communicate status of problem, and work with the appropriate subject matter expert until it is fixed with the guidance of a more senior level associate.
  • Meet deadlines and provide required metrics.
  • Ability to work within a prescribed process using tools to analyze data, generate standard routing or load plans, and provide reports and metrics on a regular basis.


Required Skills And Experience


  • Experience solving a variety of problems that range from simple to more complex.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations or related field.
  • Ability to communicate across cross-functional teams.
  • 2+ years’ experience in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, or work in the transportation industry.
  • Experience in data concepts and modeling.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating a sense of urgency and results orientation.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills - Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Effective communication skills – oral, written and presentation.
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
  • Experience with, but not limited to TMS (Blu Jay, OTM, Transplace, Mercury Gate).


Preferred Skills And Experience


  • Experience with Blu Jay Solutions and Tariff Management.
  • Experience in Route Planning and/or Route Optimization.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Experience in Power BI or similar business intelligence suite.
