Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join a fast growing real estate private equity company. This position will report directly to the CFO and CEO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the accounting department, such as preparation and management of the hotel(s) financial results, budgets, payroll, implementing and overseeing all activities relating to the financial aspects of the hotel(s), compliance with local, state and federal tax laws and the hotel’s SOPs.


Responsibilities

The Sr. Financial Mgr. / Controller will be responsible for overall accounting and financial management responsibilities including:

• Responsible for the local tax authority compliance

• Responsible to support and liaise with management in meeting the strategic financial goals of the organization

• Responsible for preparing and reviewing annual budgets, monthly forecasts and operating results

• Responsible for verifying all financial reports and ensuring transactions are accurate and in compliance with local government regulations

• Preparing and submitting management reports in a timely manner and ensuring delivery deadlines

• Effectively implement all accounting policies and procedures

• Ability to assist proactively with cost control requirements

• Ability to assist with revenue enhancement possibilities

• Ability to assist with profit improvement opportunities for operations

• Monitoring all local tax compliance and ensuring taxes are charged correctly and collected

• Filing local tax with the concerned authority on a monthly/regular basis

• Monitoring and improving hotel(s) operation costs, profitability and manage business risks

• Ensuring profits and losses are documented accurately

• Achieving and exceeding goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc

• Support internal, external and regulatory audits


Qualifications

• BA/BS with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting / Other

• Financial and management experience with day-to-day financial operations in an up-scale (4/5 Star) hospitality environment

• Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Power Point

• Proficient with accounting systems/software (Quickbooks)

• Hotel Software or Property Management Systems experience preferable (PMS)

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Superb communications skills (verbal and written)

• Excellent financial/business decision making

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills

• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
