Are you ready to take on a leadership role that will shape the future of our operations? We're looking for a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Operations Manager to lead all operational activities within the Production, Shipping, and Quality departments in North America.


As the Senior Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for providing hands-on leadership and overseeing the establishment, measurement, and achievement of productivity improvements, material cost reduction, inventory levels, and environmental, health, and safety compliance. You'll work closely with your global counterparts in the EMEA and APAC regions to share best practices and performance measurements, ensuring that our operations are aligned with our strategic goals.


This is a critical role that requires a strong leader with a proven track record of driving operational excellence and managing complex projects. You'll need to be a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail. You'll also need to be an effective communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


· Reviews production schedule with planning and assigns the required number of employees to tasks according to daily requirements, takt time, and work availability

· Verifies work procedures and bills of material against work orders to ensure product meets quality standards

· Responsible for training employees on all required training topics, including new employees, coach and mentor existing employees, and cross-trains employees as cross-departmental support

· Ensure production lines are producing at the required production standard rates

· Ensure products are produced to specifications and QC checks are being performed

· Maintain and update written procedures for each task, including follow through with employee accountability of the written procedures

· Makes recommendations for changes to increase efficiency, quality, and reduce costs

· Responsible for production inventory accuracy, periodical physical counts, and adjustments requests

· Control and analyze time and production records for the various production lines

· Coordinate shipments through a multitude of shipping methods such as Express, LTL, LCL, Ocean Freight, HAZMAT, etc.


Management / Leadership

· Promotes the company culture and sets the example for respectful leadership and commitment to customer satisfaction

· Works with HR to maintain adequate staffing levels in the area

· Define associate’s work schedule and control overtime, manage employee attendance and work schedule compliance, Authorizes PTO requests

· Perform routine administrative controls and activities. Complete periodical employee’s performance reviews

· Drives Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence

* Bilingual is a big plus *


Industrial Safety, Health, and Environmental

· Ensures implementation and adherence of the company’s safety policies and procedures. Controls the availability of SDS’s on the production floor. Maintains safety and productivity of employees and security of the facility

· Ensure that all employees company required PPE policies

· Responsible for conducting monthly safety meetings, ensures that all incidents/accidents are reported immediately

· Ensure cleanliness and order of the production areas, 5-S

· Ensures proper disposal/recycling of waste stream materials such as empty drums, cardboard, pallets, plastics, chemicals, etc.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises a staff of 50+ production/shipping employees


QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

· Associate degree required (Bachelor degree preferred), Manufacturing Engineer

· 3-5 years experience as Production/Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager

· Proficiency in inventory management (1-3 years experience)

· Prior experience in lean assembly preferred

· Intermediate knowledge of MRP/ERP software; SAP, Oracle, MAS 500, Sage, etc.

· Excellent interpersonal, writing, speaking, coordinating and organizational skills

· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and MS Teams

· Must be a team player with the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and follow-up on requests

· Must be able to perform well under pressure

· Proficient in HR practices, Employment law, Employee relations, Conflict resolution, etc.


PHYSICAL ASPECTS


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to operate a computer and calculator, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
