Job Description

POSITION: Sr. Document Control Specialist

Position Type: Direct Hire

Status: Salary-Exempt

LOCATION: Jupiter, Florida

Pay: $90-$110K (depending on experience)


JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the Configuration Management function to ensure new and redesigned product incorporation, configuration interchangeability, and optimized PLM tool usage. Perform duties related to engineering change management including chairing the Change Control Board. Ensure best practice and continuous improvement for tools used to support configuration management

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:



  • Monitor the review and release of engineering change data and change accounting activities to ensure adherence to Configuration Management procedures and policies.
  • Own and enhance Bill of Material structure and usage, expanding from component levels to frame and customer levels.
  • Manage the coordination and administration of all Configuration Management activities.
  • Act as a stakeholder with engineering relative to product & control best practices.
  • Own, drive & lead the PLM processes & tools to ensure the success of the business initiative for global growth while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Formulate procedures for and execute the introduction of changes to engineering products.
  • Manage hardcopy and virtual library.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Education & Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant business or engineering disciplines, with at least 8 years of applicable experience in a design, manufacturing, and/or repair environment, Aerospace, Gas Turbine, or related industry.

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in the understanding and execution of Configuration Management activities in an Engineering environment.
  • Experience in the Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) industry is strongly preferred, other technical manufacturing industry experience is acceptable.
  • Must be able to read and understand Bill of Materials, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present technical topics to peers, higher management, and customers.
  • Must have Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills, including the ability to motivate and influence.
  • Proficient in computer applications relevant to configuration management, including PLM (Teamcenter preferred), ERP (SAP preferred), and MS Office programs.
  • Exceptional organization and planning skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, or programs with on-time delivery and on budget.

Travel as required on an as-needed basis.
