Job Summary

Wilton has an immediate opening for a Sr. Cost Accountant. This is a critical role that is accountable for monthly closing processes. As we foster a collaborative culture, you will also have opportunities to interact with many other departments and teams. You will have great exposure to senior leadership and your ability to bring new ideas and processes to the table will be heard and valued.

Essential Responsibilities

• Be a resource to Supply Chain, Inventory/Forecasting, Divisional and Corporate Finance and others for all areas of cost and inventory
• Support and backup others on the Accounting and Finance teams
• Assist with forecasting and annual budgeting of other direct product costs
• Prepare and publish monthly Supply Chain reporting
• Prepare analysis and management reports related to inventory, material price variance, freight variances, production variances, and various other direct product costs
• Maintenance of inventory costing records
• Review variances and investigate causes
• Research significant inventory adjustments and report findings
• Prepare monthly cost and inventory related journal entries and maintain related account reconciliations
• Assist in the annual closing process, annual audit, various projects as needed

Education and Experience:

• Five or more years of General Accounting or Cost Accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• SAP experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Decision making abilities commensurate with job responsibilities
• Exposure to business enterprises systems helpful, particularly JD Edwards and Hyperion.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
• Advanced Excel and Access skills
