L3Harris is looking for a Quality Control Engineer to join its operations organization in Clifton NJ.

Essential Functions:

• Perform product inspections in accordance with the applicable specifications/ drawing requirements and review supporting assembly instructions.
• Perform process audits to assess operator competency on critical and certified processes
• Perform process inspections in accordance with manufacturing instructions
• Collaborate with cross-functional team on corrective action implementation and perform verification audits to assess corrective action effectiveness
• Perform trend analysis of defects. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
• Assist with MRB and disposition of non-conforming products
• Recommend corrective actions, dispositions, and modifications.
• Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Perform As-Built verifications.
• Quality inspector will maintain quality evaluation & control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished hardware on highly complex electronic & mechanical spaceflight assemblies.
• Engage with cross-functional team of operators and engineers to provide feedback on process and product related non-conformances

Qualifications:

• Experience with engineering drawing review and interpretation
• Requires proficient knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management.
• Experience evaluating complex electronic hardware, under magnification, to IPC-J-STD-001 and/or NASASTD-8739 is required.
• Clearance Required
• Familiarity with common measuring devices
• Certified, or the ability to obtain certification to the above referenced workmanship standards
• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
• Experience in micro circuits and/or circuit card assemblies

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Lean/Six Sigma training (green/black belt) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Failure reporting tool
• AS 9100/ISO 9001 quality system experience.
• Strong ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive tasks to closure to support customer commitments and business objectives.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and promote Quality culture across the organization
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis
• Working knowledge of quality assurance principles
• Understanding of Windows environment including standard Microsoft Office tools is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to both internal and external customers.
