JOB MISSION:
The Massachusetts Quality Lead Associate will be responsible for executing initiatives and tasks focused on driving improvements in quality performance throughout the organization. You will be part of a team of quality inspectors focused on reducing the amount of defective product generated and ensuring that when defective product is produced, it does not escape to the customer. You will perform quality audits, inspections, and tests, collecting and inputting the data to be used for reporting, decision making, and to drive continuous improvement on current and future styles. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure that you are aligned to New Balance’s Quality standards and properly representing the voice of the customer, from a quality perspective.
- Seek out and implement opportunities for continuous improvement within the organization.
- Conduct product and process audits to ensure conformance to standards.
- Participate in quality improvement teams, providing problem solving or prevention guidance using quality tools such as 8D, DOE, and FMEA.
- Provide training on quality audit and inspection processes as well as the associated standards.
- Perform lab testing on incoming materials and finished product.
- Deliver constructive feedback to key stakeholders around quality results.
- Act as primary contact for non-conforming incoming materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work with quality leaders within the organization to coordinate efforts between sites and ensure consistency of product and process standards.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
- Position will be required to travel between both Lawrence and Methuen Manufacturing facilities.
- Must demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Some travel to Maine and other NB locations, as needed.
- Background in footwear with familiarity with quality requirements a plus.
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in basic MS Office Programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).
