Job overview

This position is responsible for organizing and assisting in the quality efforts in Quality Assurance (QA) and supporting the efforts in Quality Control (QC) for the business to ensure customer satisfaction. This person will partner with customers, sales, production, and plant engineering in addressing quality questions. They will monitor product door to floor to ensure Quality control and support in the Quality Assurance of the parts until they return to the customers through the developed plant procedures and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality control activities to ensure compliance to aviation quality standards and customer specifications.
• Develops / Reviews / Revises quality system procedures and SOPs as necessary
• Responsible for interpretation of customer specification and blueprints associated with new and existing applications
• Organizes and creates documentation necessary for new applications, including job instructions, job routers, and standard operating procedures.
• Reviews customer purchase orders, specification and prints to ensure processing meets all requirements
• Analyze industry and customer specifications to ensure processes are conforming and up to date

• Perform Quality Go Cards on a routine basis and help to address issues

• Supports Internal & External Auditing and Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts.
• Supports improvement projects and associated tasks
• Other Essential Job Functions as assigned
• Partner with Sales, Accounting, Production, and Quality to execute any potential order/contract issues
• Assist with First Article Review activities as required

Required qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to review customer specifications and blue prints
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to combine theoretical training with practical experience in a "hands-on" environment
• Experience in diffusion coatings operations and processes/equipment typically used in a coatings-manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Must possess organizational skills with the ability to use resource materials to manage multiple projects

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with ISO/AS quality systems
• Experience in tooling design, process design, and programming a plus
• Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
• LEAN/ Six Sigma green belt or black belt is a plus
