The Role
Boston Common Asset Management (BCAM) is looking for a motivated Portfolio Operations Senior Associate to join our inclusive and collaborative team. The Senior Associate will report to BCAM’s Portfolio Operations Manager and will act as a support to the Operations team. They will be responsible for trade settlement and reconciliations, the quarterly reporting process, the account billing process, money movement, contributions, and client requests. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in our Boston office.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the monitoring and processing of corporate actions, proxy voting setup, and class action settlements.
- Prioritize a varied and diverse set of tasks to set appropriate priority on both short and long-term goals.
- Support daily reconciliation process of cash, positions, and trade settlements in a multi-currency environment.
- Support the monthly and quarterly reporting cycle by generating reports and reviewing them for validity.
- Engage in daily communication with third-party administrators and custodians.
- Support the firm’s custody audit.
- Monitor and support the administrator/custodial relationship and subscriptions and redemptions for private commingled funds.
- Provide ad-hoc custom reports within Advent software.
- Ensure that account, trade, and pricing data are accurate in the accounting and trading systems.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working with international investments at an investment firm managing $3-6 Billion AUM with an operations and trading team of 5 or fewer people. However, all relevant experience demonstrating the skills listed will be considered. Ideally, the candidate will possess the following experience, qualities, and skills:
- Must be a team player who can also work autonomously and see tasks through to the finish.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
- Knowledge of fixed income, domestic, and international equities.
- Ability to juggle many competing priorities while maintaining a positive and flexible attitude.
- Strong service orientation and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with SQL, SSRS reports, Salesforce, Bloomberg, and FactSet.
- Experience working with various client types, from high net worth to institutional.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and communication skills with an upbeat, patient personality.
- Experience with Advent systems is required, including APX, REX, and MOXY.
- Demonstrates sound judgment.
