About Our Client
My client is a multi-billion dollar, publicly traded, manufacturer located in the western suburbs. Their products are sold to other industrial manufacturers, most often in the Steel industry. They are well known for retaining talent as they promote from within, allow you to pivot into other areas of the business, and provide a strong work life balance!

• Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, bank reconciliations, debt, and accrued liabilities
• Work with third-party actuaries to determine assumptions and evaluate valuations
• Objectively evaluate control gaps and deficiencies and identify corrective actions
• Analyze and review actual results against budget, forecast, and prior year
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and manage a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
• Prepare and review financial reporting deliverables on a quarterly and annual basis
• Serve as a key liaison with external and internal auditors
• Review and approve journal entries and customer invoicing
• Identify and lead special projects and ad hoc assignments
• Collaborate with FP&A on the annual budget
• Direct the work activities and fully manage the performance and development of accounting staff

The Successful Applicant

• Experience leading the month-end close
• Experience as an Accounting Manager
• Accounting experience in manufacturing or a similar industry
• CPA strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Bachelor of Science in Accounting
• Experience working in Oracle, or another relevant ERP system is a must
