Senior Accounting & Financial Analyst

Role Overview: Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accounting & Financial Analyst will be responsible for performing various accounting and financial functions including the month-end closing process, accounts receivable/payable, financial reporting, variance analysis and budgeting for a subset of our various operating brands, and helping support driving the business forward by providing business performance insights to local leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct month end journal entries, as well as balance sheet and G/L reconciliations
- Communicate actuals vs. budget to business leaders and work with leaders to improve performance
- Perform data-driven analysis of business questions to support business priorities
- Assists in cash management function including tracking and reporting bank transactions and account balances along with projecting needs
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Manage day-to-day finance transaction activities for respective portfolio companies
- Manages Accounts Payable, including ensuring proper account allocations
- Assists with information collection for all types of audits
- Manages Accounts Receivable, communicating with customers and sales management about past due accounts
- Follow policies and procedures related to handling funds and accepted accounting procedures
- Assists with projects and other duties as assigned
- Streamline processes for collecting, manipulating, and reporting on KPI’s
- Monitors corporate credit card expenses for reasonability & proper documentation
- Monitors and reports AR aging on a regular basis
- Maintains and balances accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information, preparing financial statements, and creating reports
- Prepares and posts monthly journal entries as assigned; Entries include but not limited to Cash, Payroll, AR and AP
- Own financial model for 1-2 of our portfolio brands and work with the respective general managers of these businesses to granularly forecast financial performance
Qualifications:
Monarch Collective seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics
- Force multiplier, who can handle multiple work streams and projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, accomplish tasks and resolve issues with a sense of urgency under tight timelines with high attention to detail
- CPA or accounting designation preferred
- Minimum of 3+ years relevant work experience
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, Quickbooks Online and Desktop preferred; Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite preferred
