Job Description

Summary

Join us for an incredible opportunity to be a part of our Security Team as an Assistant Director of Security! The Assistant Director of Security will support “A Seattle Collection”, a multi-property cluster comprised of Grand Hyatt Seattle, Hyatt at Olive 8 and Hyatt Regency Seattle.

The Assistant Director of Security is responsible for the oversight of safety and security of the hotel. This person will respond to guest and employee emergencies, complete incident reports and supervise the security staff. They will also be responsible for scheduling shifts, payroll, and overseeing the training program.

Schedule will be primarily weekends working a late swing shift. A 4 day 10 hours a day schedule would be possible.

The salary range for this position is $76,000.00 to $115,300.00 Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications, and education.

Qualifications

  • Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, confidence, sense of responsibility to hold all colleagues accountable
  • Ability to render first aid and CPR to the extent of the training you have received.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances
  • Ability to de-escalate volatile situation dealing with angry/mentally unstable individuals
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm manner and take control of the scene
  • Has great leadership skills and has successfully held a leadership role.
  • +7 plus years of security experience preferred or equivalent work field.
  • Must be willing to train and mentor other team members.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills (a written incident report will be part of the interview process)
  • Ability to understand how to effectively balance hospitality needs and security responsibilities with guests
  • Ability to train new hires on all policies and procedures
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
