JOB DESCRIPTION: Assistant Director of Airline Security - AOSC
FLSA STAUS: EXEMPT
REPORT TO: Director of Security
Southern Airways is seeking an Assistant Director of Airline Security – AOSC to assist in managing the Security Operations for the Airline. This position requires an individual who can be available 24/7 for security or emergency situations. Pefer the successful candidate to be near a base in our footprint.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provides security content for training materials to be used by numerous company departments (initial and recurrent training)
- Assists the Director of Security as required in all company initiatives.
- On call 24/7 for any security related operational issues internally and externally with TSA/DHS/FBI/Law Enforcement Agencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Holds the position of Alternate Aircraft Operatory Security Coordinator (AOSC).
- Conducts security briefings for various Team Member groups as required.
- Answers all Letter of Investigation from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Customs and Border Protections (CBP) and host government agencies.
- Routinely monitors and performs trend analysis of security issues and counterintelligence programs.
- Ensures yearly audits for TSA Security Programs (CASS, KCM, CHRC) are completed.
- Assist with maintaining the Allegiant Employee Portal Security website.
- Analyzes data gathered through safety reporting database that are related to Allegiant security events/reports for reporting to the Security Manager and Director.
- Initiates and conducts security investigations for all security related incidents or concerns as needed.
- Conducts and documents security spot checks for all stations and locations, as appropriate.
- Assist with maintaining the Southern Airways internal intranet security site.
- Completes all security department audits as required.
- Maintains security records, including all investigation or audit documentation for the department.
- Assists and/or responds to law enforcement inquiries/legal documents requesting customer-related information and/or documentation.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders on Letters of Investigation or other Security related correspondence.
- Ensures compliance with passenger and crew screening/vetting regulations, watchlists, customs and immigration vetting and other international security regulations.
- Acts as a company liaison and subject matter expert for all security related functions. These functions involve direct contact with employees and inspectors from international, federal, state, and local agencies.
- Assists in maintaining all corporate security manuals and documentation. This includes maintaining the Allegiant employee portal security websites which has information regarding Security Events, Security Directives, and threat information pertinent to Allegiant operations.
Job Requirements:
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision in support of the Safety and Security Team.
- Past Security Program experience preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other company managers, external regulatory agencies, and industry resources.
- Previous experience maintaining and enhancing corporate security standards, drug abatement standards, and safe operation practices.
- Strong work ethic, ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment and a positive attitude toward teamwork.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision in support of the Safety and Security Team.
- Working knowledge of regulations governing commercial aviation a plus.

- Experience in emergency planning and training management preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including database and spreadsheet programs.
- Experience in handling sensitive information preferred.

- Must be able to hold appropriate clearance with the DOD, TSA, and other government agencies as needed.
- Familiarity with the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, Customs and Border Protection, Airports, Host Government, and criminal justice systems preferred.

Miscellaneous Requirements:
- Ability to work within a 24/7 operation, including holidays.
- Fluency in English.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986.

- Ability to pass 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen per airline regulations.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to talk, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands/fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, printer, and phone.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 20 lbs.
- Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform duties.
- Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time, up to 12 hours a day.
- Must be able to work in a confined area as well as sit at a computer for an extended period of time.
