Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide Facility Engineering support including self-performance of the following services.
    • Condition assessment surveys.
    • Capital improvement programming, energy conservation analysis including building performance benchmarking & modeling.
    • Load management consultation.
    • Development of complete design solutions/bid packages for small renovations and retrofits related to on cycle or out of cycle ECM implementation.
    • Establish outside consultants and manage as required.
    • Ensure that information requirements for owners, internal stakeholders and franchisees are met on a timely manner.
  • Support and educate Quality team in auditing ECMs in hotels.
  • Capital improvement programming, energy conservation analysis including building performance benchmarking & modeling.
  • Keeps up to date with industry practices and trends and incorporates them into the environmental strategy and goals in alignment and in partnership with the Director of Sustainability, AD&C, Americas.
  • Establish outside consultants and manage as required.
  • Provides engineering and hotel operations focused direction to other internal stakeholders such as HLG and CR to consider system for system wide implementation.
  • Evaluate macro data to identify opportunities for energy conservation and coordinate with AD&C and CR to develop programs and education.
  • Development of complete design solutions/bid packages for small renovations and retrofits related to on cycle or out of cycle ECM implementation.
  • Ensure that information requirements for owners, internal stakeholders and franchisees are met on a timely manner.
  • Support further development of Green Engage.
  • Support FPS in reading CR metrics, reporting, and Green Engage.
  • Support hotels in achieving energy metrics.
  • Support understanding of financial incentives, financing, rebate programs etc.
  • Provide consulting support to franchised hotels struggling to meet energy metric.
  • Identifies and implements property programs and processes that support energy, water and waste efficiencies.
  • Develops and implements property focused educational support and best practices related to maintenance, energy reduction targets, energy and cost savings and participates in communications and guidance for other properties.
  • Develops and implements hotel engineering and energy self-audit guides.
  • Condition assessment surveys.
  • Consults with managed properties to create and deliver decarbonization plans, implement various energy efficiency measures and ensure adoption of IHG's programs Anticipate and plan for impending regulations for hotels (e.g. energy performance requirements in NYC).
  • Load management consultation.
  • Support AD&C and CR teams on feedback loop and analysis of new ECM opportunities for consideration and updates to existing ECMs performance criteria/specifications for building systems (ME&P) in our Brand Design Standards.
  • Manage and ensure on property implementation of Energy Conservation Measures (ECM).

Key Skills & Experiences

Education –

  • Relevant college degree required and post-graduate degree (desired)
Skills:
  • +10-years' experience combined in hospitality and/or engineering/maintenance roles
  • Current industry certifications??
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Financial acumen
