Digital Infuzion has created and is constantly improving a large infectious diseases data repository and analytics platform for a major Government research organization. We are looking for an exceptional individual to assume the role of Scientific Program Manager for the program. In this role, you will use your scientific expertise to assist the Principal Investigator in charting the long-term goals of the project, communicate the strategic and tactical priorities to the team, and develop and nurture productive relationships with the client and scientific stakeholders. The Scientific Project Manager will be the primary contact with the scientific experts at the client Government research organization and act as the liaison between the scientific and technical members of the project team. You will work in close collaboration with the project’s Scrum Master and the Technical Lead to form a cohesive leadership team that can independently drive the team to implement the vision of the program and imagine innovative solutions informed by science and realized with technology.
The growth objective for the Scientific Project Manager is to gradually assume full responsibility for the management of the program.
Who you are:
The ideal candidate is a scientist with a Ph.D. in life, health, or medical sciences who is developing a deep interest in computer science and bioinformatics. While the Scientific Project Manager is not expected to develop technical systems, the candidate must have or be willing to become conversant in the state-of-the-art of modern, Cloud-based Web and mobile application design and development frameworks.

Responsibilities:
- Provide scientific leadership and education to the technical team and explain design and priority decisions regarding the impact on the scientific research programs we support.
- Lead the creation of periodic progress reports and performance metrics that illustrate the positive impact of the program on the scientific research goals of the client.
- Focus the team on the Epics and Features that most effectively contribute to completing the project’s short- and long-term goals.
- Contribute to UI/UX designs, workflows, and business rules as a representative of the end user scientific community.
- Assist the principal investigator in managing budgets, resources, staff, and contractual requirements.
- Interface with the Government client, leadership teams, and scientific research stakeholders to collect requirements, define priorities, and ensure sufficient resources are available to reach the program’s goals.
Requirements:
- Education or experience in one or more of the following: bioinformatics, Cloud architecture and services, software development, data analysis and visualization, scientific data management
- Ph.D. in the life, health, or medical sciences
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience in clinical trial regulatory process or data management
- Familiarity with the Agile software development environment
- Previous work in a Data Coordinating Center
- Expertise in epidemiology or public health
