Job Description
Responsibilities


CDC Progam is looking for a Data Analyst. The qualified applicant will support the work of the Global TB Branch (GTB) at CDC by performing data management, data analysis, and data use functions. The applicant should be able to synthesize quantitative information from a variety of sources, handle multiple tasks, and interact effectively with branch members and project collaborators.


What you will do:


  • Document and communicate with multi-disciplinary teams including project management staff, epidemiologists, and data collectors regarding data quality issues and assist with tracking problem resolution to improve quality and use of data.
  • Perform data quality assurance activities including reviewing and cleaning data using standard data quality measurements to identify inconsistencies and outliers; ensure version control is effectively accomplished; and track and document investigation and resolution of data anomalies or errors through data quality reports.
  • Assist with developing and/or implementing data management standard operating procedures (SOPs) for projects and studies including but not limited to data capture, data cleaning, data storage and archiving, data analysis, and data visualization.
  • Improve data management and data use processes through new or innovative methods and strategies as they contribute to data quality, data documentation, and data interpretation.
  • Collaborate with teams to determine data analysis strategy and review analytical procedures and tools to ensure compatibility with and appropriateness for project design.
  • Visualize and interpret analytic results using data visualization platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or R Shiny; support the development of analytic dashboards to effectively visualize as well as quickly and easily interpret data.
  • Support the development and review of data management sections of manuscripts, project implementation plans, and protocols.
  • Manipulate and analyze project-related datasets using SAS, R, STATA, or other statistical applications; create or provide data sets and subsets for specific analyses; and transfer data as imports or downloads between different systems to facilitate data analysis.
  • Ensure data analyses and visualizations are consistent with PEPFAR and GTB program objectives.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications:


  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data management including data capture, data cleaning, data storage and archiving, data analysis, data visualization and data interpretation.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Experience aggregating and manipulating complex data from multiple sources.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Proficient with one or more electronic data capture tools such as Redcap or KoBo Toolbox.
  • Masters' degrree in Public Healt or related degree with a minimum of 0 to 2 years of experience
  • Experience collaborating with and providing data management support to multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices, methods and strategies to ensure use of high-quality data for decision-making.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance
  • Proficient in data analysis and visualization software such as Power BI, SAS, R, STATA, Epi Info, Tableau, or other software.
  • Proficient in software applications such as Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams and other computer general office software.
  • Experience with analytical approaches, statistical methodology, statistical analysis, SAS/R programming, or mathematical modeling.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience working internationally with public health organizations including but not limited to CDC Country Offices, Ministries of Health, and other partners.
  • Practical experience designing, managing, and analyzing large datasets.

Target Salary Range


$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
