The Sales Development Representative position is responsible for qualifying new business by phone, email and social media. Often the first point of contact with prospective customers, the Business Development Representative has full responsibility for delivering a positive customer experience that will set the stage for continued engagement and growing interest in Monotype’s type, technology, and expertise.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Review, contact, and qualify marketing-generated leads
  • Work with sales managers and sales enablement to stay well versed in Monotype’s products
  • Manage inbound sales requests received via web, email, and phone
  • Outbound prospecting to build pipeline for Inside and Field Sales Teams
  • Collaborate with sales managers and sales teams to refine sales strategies and approaches
  • Maintain and update Salesforce.com to accurately track all relative customer data, business insights, and record of interactions
  • Generate sales by phone for defined new customer segments, from initial contact to signed agreement
  • Continuously develop knowledge and skills
  • Ensure efficient lead routing to appropriate sales teams
  • Pass qualified opportunities to New Business Hunter team, based on established rules of engagement


What we’re looking for:

  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
  • 6+ months of telesales experience in a business-to-business environment
  • Self-motivated with high energy and drive to succeed
  • Ability to embrace change and learn quickly
  • Ability to engage customers and build strong relationships
  • Experience with customer relationship management software and knowledge of marketing automation software
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • Strong problem identification and objection resolution ability

The California pay for this position is $24.03 per hour. Commissions will also be offered as part of this role.
