The Stanford Headache and Facial Pain Program in the Department of Neurology & Neurological Sciences is seeking a Research Data Analyst 2 to manage and analyze large amount of neuroimaging data for our projects on chronic headache disorders.

We are seeking a Neuroimaging Research Data Analyst 2 who will work independently with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will work to organize and maintain a database of MRI scans and aid in the preprocessing and analysis of neuroimaging data. The candidate will work in closely with the study scientists to implement and execute image-analysis pipelines for structural and functional MRI data.

Duties Include

• Create complex charts and databases, perform statistical analyses, and develop graphs and tables for publication and presentation.
• Test prototype software and participate in approval and release process for new software.
• Design and customize reports based upon data in the database. Oversee and monitor regulatory compliance for utilization of the data.
• Use system reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and eliminate root cause for data problems or justify solutions to be implemented by others.
• Determine additional data collection and reporting requirements.
• Prioritize and extract data from a variety of sources such as notes, survey results, medical reports, and laboratory data, and maintain its accuracy and completeness.
• Other duties may also be assigned
• Serve as a resource for non-routine inquiries such as requests for statistics or surveys.
• Provide documentation based on audit and reporting criteria to investigators and research staff.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in a Neuroscience, Neurology, Cognitive Science, Psychology or related field executing MRI analysis
• Ability to collaborate with senior investigators
• Relevant background in Neuroscience, Neurology, Cognitive Science, Psychology or related field
• Ability to multi-task various projects with different timelines
• Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., bash, MATLAB, python)
• Experience using FreeSurfer, FSL, or other neuroimaging software (e.g., SPM)
• M.S. degree or Ph.D. degree with 5 years of Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics or related experience preferred

Education & Experience (required)

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (required)

• Ability to prioritize workload.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Substantial experience with MS Office and analytical programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

• Occasionally use a telephone.
• Sitting in place at computer for long periods of time with extensive keyboarding/dexterity.
• Rarely writing by hand.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. The expected pay range for this position is $63,000 to $112,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
