Position Overview
This position is a skilled hybrid position that is responsible for the safe operations of heavy equipment, remote plant operations, and collecting and sampling Ready-Mix concrete materials. This position will include general labor responsibilities including safely performing plant maintenance duties and other various manual tasks.
Wage ranges from $27.00 to $31.00 per hour dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Operates front end loader, skid steer, and other equipment as needed.
- Participates in daily TRACK meetings plus weekly safety meetings.
- Perform daily housekeeping operations and maintain a clean plant environment.
- Ensures that all assigned equipment is properly maintained, clean, in a safe working order and operated properly.
- Safely and efficiently collect samples for testing.
- Maintain daily record of test results, prepare daily reports, and submit results to plant operator.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Prepares plant for operations at the beginning of each shift and performs shut down procedures at the end of day.
- Assists in plant production of materials and ensures the efficient working condition of the plant.
- Report any problems to Plant Operator, Area Manager, Safety Manager or Human Resource Manager.
- Performs routine plant & mobile equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Perform sampling, testing, and reporting procedures according to established protocol, having the ability to test material samples and recording test results in a timely and accurate manner.
- Promptly report non-compliant tests to plant operator when applicable.
Qualifications

Education/Experience
- CDL Class B preferred.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- ACI Field Level 1 Certification preferred.
- 1-2 years of related experience in building materials/construction industry.
Work Requirements
- Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and productions areas as stated by OSHA and MSHA.
- Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends, when necessary.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to operate computer and software applications. Proficient Microsoft Work, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees and managers.
- Ability to be self-sufficient and perform tasks and duties without immediate supervision.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow documents and procedures such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to conduct moisture tests, yield calculation and yield adjustment of mix designs for conformance with mix designs and specifications.
- Ability to test concrete for conformance with mixed design and specification.
- Perform required field and laboratory tests and procedures per applicable standards.
