Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an IMMEDIATE opening for an experienced Operations Tech at its Carson, CA facility.
The Southern California refinery H2 facilities are located 2.3 miles from each other, and currently consist of two (2) SMR (steam methane reformers) units and associated equipment within the growing Los Angeles area H2 pipeline franchise.
The Operations Tech will be responsible for controlling and monitoring the processes to produce hydrogen, which includes operating and controlling the following:

• Steam Turbines for power generation
• Rotating Equipment
• DCS monitoring systems
• Pressure Swing Adsorption skid
• Pneumatically Operated and Manual Valves
• Water Treatment Systems (Boiler and Cooling Water Systems)
• Compressors
• Catalyst Reactors

Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalency, be willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts at either of the 2 facilities, and on limited occasions assist other AP sites in North America with Operations support. Being a dedicated team player, having a commitment to safety, and strong communications skills are a must.
Within the Operations Tech role you will work hand in hand with Mechanical Technicians, Instruments Technicians, other Operations Tech’s, and Process Engineers to maintain and operate the Hydrogen Plant(s), to include participating in the management of effective safety programs safely and efficiently.
Additionally Operations Techs will work to acquire a City of Los Angeles Steam Engineer (Boiler Operator) license if they do not already possess one. We encourage qualified candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and/or military or technical background with plant process experience to apply.

($44.50 - $49.17, paid hourly)
