Duties

As the High Reliability Organization (HRO) Coordinator you will practice as a registered nurse in the Quality, Safety, and Value (QSV) Service under the direction of the Chief of QSV. Practice encompasses a wide range of responsibility and accountability for improving the quality and safety of Veteran care and effectiveness of outcomes. Ensure that leadership and relevant staff are kept abreast of any changes related to major duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to assisting clinical and administrative staff to carry out the functions and activities related to the implementation of HRO culture and principles. You will use data and comparative analytical processes in the design and implementation of innovative programs to improve service excellence, customer satisfaction, and compliance with patient care and regulatory standards. Collaborate closely with the Patient Safety Manager (PSM) to identify trends and conduct root cause analysis (RCA). In the absence of the PSM, you will serve as the PSM primary back up. Contribute ideas and recommendations for performance improvement projects in collaboration with System Redesign staff. Actively participate in performance improvement projects for the enhancement of HRO concepts/culture organization wide. Execute leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups or integrated programs across services and disciplines to promote HRO culture and principles at the El Paso VA Health Care System. (EPVAHCS).
