MU Research Reactor

The internationally recognized University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) is a 10-megawatt nuclear research facility and the most powerful research reactor located on the Mizzou campus. MURR is a campus research center which operates under the Division of Research, Innovation & Impact.


MURR is the highest-power university research reactor in the United States, operating at 10 megawatts, 6.5 days a week and 52 weeks a year. The MURR facility enables research across many disciplines – From investigating ancient cultures and how plants respond to their environment, to analyzing industrial materials and developing radiopharmaceuticals that have lifesaving clinical applications, the MURR facility is a reliable resource for researchers, scientists, engineers and students across the country.


The University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) is seeking a QA Associate to join in the Quality Assurance team. This person will participate in the review of testing and release of GMP radiochemical products which will be used in pharmaceutical formulations for human patients. This position is part of an approved Career Progression Plan within the Quality Assurance Department and will report to the Quality Assurance Team Lead.

Key Duties Performed by This Position Will Include

  • Review Process & Component Batch Record requests
  • Provide support for equipment qualification & maintenance
  • Collaborate with other departments to reach common goals
  • Perform training within GMP program then progress to quality support processes
  • Issue quality system number requests and monitor completion/progress of those records
  • Develop and attend training sessions
  • Perform responsibilities in support of radiopharmaceutical production & quality release
  • Adhere to applicable cGMP documentation guidelines following ALCOA principles
  • Consider, develop, and implement continuous improvement initiatives

Salary


$24.04 per hour

Grade: GGS 8

University Title: QA/CONTROL ASSOCIATE

Shift


Monday-Friday, 07:30am – 4:30pm w/ occasional evenings and weekends, to be discussed in interview.


Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field preferred
  • Experience with technical writing, root cause analysis, effective corrective/preventative action identification, and/or risk assessments.
  • Preference will be given to those with cGMP/GLP experience, general laboratory experience, and/or regulated manufacturing experience.
