Summary


The Purchasing Manager will coordinate the activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies within the organization. This individual will plan, organize, direct, and control activities related to the procurement functions with Mountain Operations and associated ancillary businesses.


The budgeted salary range for this position is $80,312 - $96,374. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.


Essential Job Functions


  • Negotiates or supervises the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors for Mountain Operations and ancillary businesses.
  • Create department systems and procedures in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Works with the Managing Director to prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.
  • Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.
  • Evaluates vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Works with the Managing Director to review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  • Helps to design, implement, manage, and monitor procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements in the assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepares market analysis reports relative to the assigned departments.


Qualifications


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Purchasing software, and any inventory software
  • Five years’ experience in Procurement or related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement or related field

Supervision given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Supervision received Works under general supervision of Director of Purchasing. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.


Work Environment and physical demands


Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements


No adverse or hazardous conditions


Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
