Public Relations Sr. Account Executive

SUMMARYCMW Media is a fast-growing, full-service Public Relations firm specializing in innovative businesses in a wide range of industries including publicly traded companies and emerging markets, including the cannabis industry.

CMW Media is looking to add a Senior Account Executive to its Public Relations team to assist with press release writing, media outreach for multiple clients and additional responsibilities (listed below). Our clients are based throughout the U.S., Canada and Colombia, providing an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to further their PR career on a global scale!

The ideal candidate is passionate about public relations, with an emphasis on building and maintaining top tier and trade press contacts, brainstorming creative pitch angles to secure client placement, and handling client calls and communication as needed.

Working with publicly-traded clients also allows this position to grow into a hybrid role encompassing both PR and investor-related communications, depending on clients’ needs. This is a fully remote position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

·Write and/or edit copy for press releases for multiple clients, working with clients to obtain the necessary information; examples include:

• Drafting highly technical copy, including financial and pharma copy, researching competitors
• Write press releases advertising new products
• Capable of drafting press release copy that informs shareholders of publicly traded companies

·Pitching the news media and execution of successful PR campaigns; securing placement

·Representing clients onsite at trade shows and chasing down reporters to cover their story

·Maintaining all client data in Google Drive including press release boiler plates, contact info and press kits

·Spreadsheet maintenance, including news pickups spreadsheet

·Continual help with executive media trainings, including drafting of Talking Points for clients

·Able to work on several projects at once and capable of identifying top-priority projects

·Strong customer service skills with clients

·Research the technical properties of clients’ products

·Revise, edit, and proofread content as needed or directed

·Respond to feedback in a timely manner

·Work within tight deadlines, and hit them every time

·Check copy for spelling and grammar errors

·Research competitors and keep abreast of market trends

·Any other tasks as directed by CMW Media management

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

·Bachelors Degree

·3-5 years of press release or content writing experience, preferably agency experience

·Flexibility to embrace change in a rapidly growing organization

·Driven toward continual improvement

·Team player, comfortable working in a collaborative environment

·Proficiency in Google Drive and Google aps tools

·Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office programs (experience with InDesign preferred)

·Experience working remotely and communicating online via Slack, Zoom and other online platforms

·Experience working with creative people and agencies (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time & Remote

Salary: $65,000.00-$80,000/year DOE
