GENERAL SUMMARY
The Prospect Researcher is an integral position on the Fund Development team and helps with prospect research and overall coordination of information on prospects and donors. This position leverages the CRM database to systematize the donor management and stewardship processes for GLIDE’s Fund Development department. Developing a strong understanding of GLIDE and its mission, values and goals is key in this role. Work responsibilities will occasionally require long days and/or evening or weekend work and holidays. Regular and predictable attendance is assumed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Proactively identify prospects through research of prospective donors, corporations, and foundations, assessing financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, and giving propensity and connections to GLIDE; establish and maintain a process for assignment of new prospects.
· Assist in the preparation of in-depth, confidential research profiles on high-wealth individuals using a wide variety of biographical, organizational, and other sources (prospect research tools, internet web sites, and other external sources of public information).
· Assist the fundraising teams in maintaining and updating a moves management system in Salesforce that drives cultivation and solicitation strategies for donors and prospects and facilitates day-to-day functions.
· Help record all interactions, including meetings, phone calls, emails, mailings, etc. with campaign donors and prospects in Salesforce.
· Provide informed and timely lists and reports as needed.
· Assist in the management of the Fund Development office’s prospect rating system and database entries to ensure that they are up-to-date, accurate and properly documented in Salesforce.
· Run analytics to ensure donor fit within Salesforce as well as likely prospects in Wealth Engine.
· Work with Fund Development staff to help with acknowledgements and stewardship activities.
· Research and maintain knowledge of fundraising best practices and industry benchmark data.
· Attend select GLIDE donor cultivation and fundraising events.

EXPERIENCE
· 2+ years of fund development experience in a non-profit setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· BA degree preferred with experience in prospect research and tools, development, fundraising, financial analysis, and/or relevant experience.
· Experience with CRMs (Salesforce) highly preferred.
· Experience with fundraising, campaigns, and moves management preferred.
· Exceptionally strong communication skills. Has the ability to reduce large amounts of information/data to concise points.
· Has the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with diverse groups.
· Excellent written communication skills. Ability to write clearly and concisely. Editing and proofreading skills essential.
· Ability to perform mathematic calculations with speed and high degree of accuracy.
· Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data and other data found in reports relevant to programs or projects.
· Salesforce (or CRM) experience strongly preferred.
· Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Word.
· Experience in prospect research tools (iWave, RelSci, Blackbaud, others) preferred.
