SUMMARY
Assists in carrying out research specifically related to Peter Drucker and MLA. Develops MLA content for the Research Institute. Conducts seminars for CIAM faculty and other personnel as needed.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary functions and responsibilities of the Specialty Researcher are as follows:
- Disseminate knowledge of research advances to inform departmental teaching efforts.
- Conduct individual and collaborative research leading to Publications, Institute Reports, and Course Development. Take the lead in the implementation and execution of research projects.
- Collaborate with management to identify company training needs (external and internal)
- Identify sources of funding and provide assistance with preparing bids to funding bodies contribute to securing of funds for research.
- Conduct literature reviews.
- Participate regularly in group meetings and prepare and deliver presentations to the project team, internal and external stakeholders. or funders.
- Develop webinars, journals, and other content to promote MLA.
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
- Develop research objectives and proposals for own or joint research, with the assistance of a mentor if required.
- Continually update knowledge and understanding in the field to inform research activity.
- Write results of research and contribute to publishing of results in high-quality peer-reviewed academic literature.
- Disseminating results of project as appropriate to the discipline e.g.by presentations at workshops/conferences.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level, preferably related.
- Ph.D. and at least 3 years of professional research experience, preferably related to the work of Peter Drucker from an interdisciplinary perspective.
- Ability to communicate with international audiences; Chinese language skills a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Ability to approach MLA and Drucker from a novel perspective in terms of research and analysis.
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader objectives.
- Ability to articulate Drucker’s concept of MLA in a meaningful way verbally and in writing.
- Strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to work effectively in an environment of tight deadlines and constant change.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize ideas and issues.
- Flexible personality, quick learner, and a strong, proactive work ethic.
- Demonstrated academic ability to publish quality research related to Peter Drucker and MLA
- Familiarity with Peter Drucker’s non-management writings
- Computer literate with proficiencies in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team, including in a supervisory role.
- Exceptional quantitative and/or qualitative research skills
- Able to think out of the box in the development of methodological approaches.
- Interest and willingness to learn in areas that are outside of the field of expertise.

CIAM’s Annual Safety and Security Report 2018-2020 report is available to you. This report is required by federal law and contains policy statements and crime statistics for the school. The policy statements address the school’s policies, procedures, and programs concerning safety and security, for example, policies for responding to emergency situations and sexual offenses. Three years’ worth of statistics are included for certain types of crimes that were reported to have occurred on campus, in or on off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the school, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to the campus.
