Job Description

Position Overview:

Continental Equities Group, a vertically integrated real estate company, is seeking a highly skilled and driven Property Management professional to join its team. Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our properties and ensuring that our tenants have the best experience possible. The ideal candidate has a strong background in real estate property management, has exceptional communication and organizational skills, and is eager for a new opportunity. This position will be based in the firm’s office in Great Neck, NY and starts immediately.


Primary Responsibilities:

Property Management

  • Ensure Certificates of Insurance for tenants and vendors are up to date
  • Work with vendors and contractors to ensure the timely completion of maintenance and repair tasks
  • Assist with all aspects of building management
  • Ensure all property files are prepared and maintained in an orderly and logical manner, including leases and contracts
  • Coordinate tenant move ins and move outs
  • Assist in lease administration activities, including abstracting leases and keeping our database current
  • Coordinate all tenant requests, including repairs, moving, deliveries and any special requests
  • Maintain proper tenant relations by periodic visits, e-mails and telephone conversations to ensure a high standard is maintained regarding all facets of building operations and services
  • Understands and implements current computer software applications


Accounting / Bookkeeping

  • Support department logistic work, including but not limited to manual paperwork filing, compliance process review, etc.
  • Analyzes budgets-to-actual results and financial information on a monthly basis and report noteworthy variances
  • Assist with real estate tax, corporate tax, and other governmental tax reporting
  • Prepare end of year profit / loss statements
  • Prepare month end journal and closing entries
  • Prepare financial statements and reporting packages as needed
  • Record rent payments and other / passthrough charges paid by tenants
  • Establish annual budgets for projects/assets in the portfolio
  • Prepare CAM and tax reconciliations
  • Maintain accounts payable / accounts receivable


Requirements:

  • Pleasing personality and ability to work with and understand the problems and attitudes of tenants
  • Must be able to set priorities, plan, organize and accomplish tasks, often within strict time limitations and work well independently
  • Bachelor’s Degree with strong credentials plus 3+ years of work experience in commercial real estate is required
  • Experience working with Quickbooks
  • Experience with leases and legal contracts is a plus
  • Construction or project management experience is a plus
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience working within MRI, Yardi, or similar software is a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and administrative procedures
  • Ability to keep accurate records
