Job Description
University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is currently seeking a Project Reviewer - Electrical to join Facilities Management - Architecture, Engineering, Construction Services. The department provides facilities programming, design, and construction services to the UMB schools and administration, ranging from the smallest renovation job to the largest capital project.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide maintenance support and/or technical advice to other departments and schools throughout the University system.
  • Provide technical support throughout all phases of Design, Construction, and Close-Out, and participate in meetings
  • Assist consultants in understanding and implementing university and client standards and requirements.
  • Participate in review and update of discipline specific university master specifications, drawings, details, campus standards, and procedures manuals.
  • Record any relevant or outstanding issues in project and/or technical specialty databases/ reports.
  • Provide technical reviews of all construction documents (design submissions, RFI;s, CDC;s, submittals and close-out documents) for compliance with standard codes of their discipline and further for compliance with the agreed upon university procedures, Provide written review comments, and conduct professional analysis of consultant submissions to determine compliance with University requirements
  • Review materials and methods, questions, conflicts, and changes. Manage client issues in relation to construction decisions and preferences.
  • Provide visual inspection and quality control by monitoring construction progress. Ensure compliance with intended results, codes, regulations, and requested standards. Escalate issues as necessary.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience: Six (6) years experience in design and construction of institutional or commercial building projects.
Licensure: Masters Electrician or Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
Supervisory Experience: N/A
Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Hiring Range: $100,000 - $112,000 per year (Commensurate with education and experience)
