What You’ll Do


As an Electrical Project Engineer, you’ll be part of our Outdoor Tools team located in our Engineering Headquarters in Towson, Maryland. Our design teams are involved with every step of the process bringing these world class products to life. From conducting end user research to identify new needs, designing and prototyping tools to ensure we meet our customers high expectations, to creating robust tests to guarantee the tools we make stand up to the toughest environments, our engineers own every aspect of the process along the way.


You’ll get to:


  • Effectively identify and communicate major technical and schedule issues to team leaders in a clear, concise, and timely manner while driving appropriate actions.
  • Work closely with the Global Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Purchasing teams to drive platform designs that support product portfolios across multiple strategic business units.
  • Be a motivated, self-starter with independent design authority
  • Set deliverables, and project timelines, and report status to team leaders.
  • Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers and serve as a member of cross-functional product development teams
  • Design of new products and platforms, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
  • Be on the leading edge of development of Battery Electric Riding Mowers, Zero Turn Mowers, and Large Format Outdoor equipment
  • Responsible for research and development of challenging electronic hardware designs for brushless motor control platforms, battery charging systems, and accessories, alongside a multidisciplinary team of firmware, electromechanical, and mechanical engineers.
  • Develop AC/DC and DC/DC chargers and accessories in the multi kW range to support a growing ecosystem of Residential and Professional Battery Electric Equipment


Who You Are


An experienced Electrical Project Engineer with hands-on experience in electronics and motor control design in a high-volume, competitive product setting. You are looking for a role where you can make an immediate and lasting impact on products and end users. You’re agile and adaptable but work with precision to ensure we deliver top-notch customer experiences, always.


You also have:


  • Board level bring-up and troubleshooting hands on experience: oscilloscope, voltage and current probes, DMM, thermal camera, and equivalent equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB design best practices and design for EMC.
  • A broad electrical design experience with some focus in Power Electronics
  • Knowledge in some or all the following areas: switch-mode power supply design, embedded control systems, lithium ion battery management, DFMEA, AC/DC, and brushless motors.
  • Ability to travel globally as needed (10% Travel).
  • Understanding of electronics manufacturing and design for high volume production and fault tolerant design practices.
  • Proficient in schematic capture, PCB and simulation using Altium designer or similar software package
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering a minimum.
  • 3+ years of experience in Electronics design within a relevant industry.
