What We Can Achieve Together


The Project & Planning Manager will report to the Director of Philanthropy Management & Performance within the World Office Development Division. The Philanthropy Management & Performance team is a centralized team that creates metrics, tools, and resources for the Conservancy’s philanthropy teams across the globe. The Project & Planning Manager will support and promote the strategic priorities of the Philanthropy Management & Performance Team by planning, managing, and executing key bodies of work. They will work collaboratively to improve team technology, tools, and processes and will create consistency in the team's policies and procedures, plan and execute communications, and proactively report progress and results to senior leadership.


This position will collaborate with World Office Development colleagues and Business Unit fundraising staff to align approaches and optimize outcomes. They will provide relevant information to support fundraising decision-making, problem-solving, and to improve fundraising workflows to enhance efficiency. This position may take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team. Such duties may include, but are not limited to, managing and refining processes to meet the needs of stakeholders and enhancing the systems and tools used by the team.


Responsibilities And Scope


  • Proactively gathers and compiles information from team members to report on progress.
  • Utilizes project management tools to drive success and foster communication, transparency, efficiency, and accountability for a wide breadth of existing and new initiatives.
  • Leads and facilitates great project meetings and presentations.
  • Ensures project goals, success factors, project plans, budgets and schedules are established with input and buy-in from key stakeholders and team members.
  • Is a champion for innovation, modeling a willingness to try new approaches, lead experiments with short learning cycles, and adaptively manage and drive continuous improvement across the team and for our bodies of work.
  • Creates or enhances systems supporting knowledge and processes to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Provides proactive advice and analyses on project progress and adaptively manages plans.
  • Drives project planning across the team, facilitating an integrated approach across all aspects of the team’s work and alignment with the work of other departments, Divisions, and Business Units.
  • Ensures project scope and roles & responsibilities are well defined using TNC’s Highly Effective Teams (HET) model.
  • Experience or willingness to manage up to leadership; anticipates what’s needed to successfully meet deadlines and any potential challenges or roadblocks.

What You'll Bring


  • Experience working with teams across organization.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in principles, practices, and procedures of relevant field.
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements.
  • Experience with current and evolving technology in relevant field.
  • Experience designing and generating reports and analyzing and interpreting the data.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years related experience or equivalent combination.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (not Required)


  • Experience planning and completing multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to
  • Commitment to embracing new technology and promoting experimentation and continuous improvement.

  • Experience with (or willing to learn) Asana, Mural, and/or similar collaboration/project management tools.
  • Experience applying Agile, Lean & Design Thinking principles and methodologies to team's work.
  • Experience acting with professionalism, integrity, and tact in managing communications and relationships.
  • Detail and prioritization to meet deadlines.
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Proficient in interpreting guidelines and manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting data.
  • Supervisory experience including setting objectives and managing performance, including conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating clearly and write persuasively for various audiences.
  • Experience making strategic decisions based on analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.

SALARY INFORMATION


Hiring Range: $75,055 - $123,225 (if selected for an interview, a salary range within our hiring range will be shared that is specific to candidates' geographic location).
