Job Description

About the Company Hiring: Our client is a leader in the building materials industry.

The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects from PO to completion. You will be responsible for:

· Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.

· Prepare status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.

· Manage customer satisfaction within the project transition period, conduct post-project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

· Must be able to schedule events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.

· Coordinate and prepare competitive, accurate and profitable cost estimates for new projects and repeat orders according to customer specifications and plans provided by sales, online submittals, and phone requests.

· Read, evaluate, and interpret customer specifications, plans, proposals and instruction requirements for preparation of estimates, determine if suitable scope of work.

· Read and analyze project documents to determine the best method of fabrication and ensure manufacturability; propose value add solutions and efficiencies to control costs.

· Identify and prepare material take-offs, production routings, labor, subcontracted items and fabrication time requirements including order entry.

· Negotiate and source costs/contract with subcontractors as needed to achieve the best price, quality, and delivery.

· Prepare project estimate reports identifying factors that may affect pricing.

· Follow up with customers and provide feedback to the team on submitted quotes.

· Complete estimates in a timely and efficient manner to meet customer expectations.

· Understand production capacities of the plant(s) and select appropriate fabrication and delivery slots for sizeable projects as to not overload/underutilize the shop.

· Identify potential job specific limitations of the shop or understand the extra time it may take to produce the project.

· Initiate and lead Kick off meetings when needed and ensure that follow-ups are completed.

· Determine if there will be a need for subcontracting (galvanization, bending, rolling.) Establish and communicate a timeline needed for extra prep.

· Identify and select the optimum subcontractor by price, location, and overall expense.

· Coordinate every aspect of the project: Ensure that the project meets all specifications, shop drawings, material, fabrication schedule and deliveries.

· Work closely with sales and accounting to establish and manage a schedule of values.

· Provide timely direction for field issues to avoid or minimize back charges.

Minimum Requirements

· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

· General knowledge of fabrication and erection standards and procedures

· General knowledge of AISC standards and AWS codes

· Prior experience working with building materials/related industries

· Proven ability to read and interpret shop and design drawings

· Proven ability to manage large multiple commercial and industrial projects

· Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting stringent deadlines

· Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion, on-time & within budget

Salary: $75,000 - $85000 base salary

Job Status: Direct Hire/Full Time
