Job Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Students, this position would plan programming events and leadership for our first-year students. Coordinates family orientation, Javelina family association, and family weekend. This position also coordinates Javelina Camp, marketing for Student Engagement and Campus Life, and supervises a student engagement coordinator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Office of Student Engagement
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Students
- Marketing for the department
- Assist with the assessment of departmental activities
- Complete administrative tasks including reports and other correspondence.
- Develop relationships and cooperative programming efforts with other University departments
- Contributes to and participate in Division of Student Affairs and University committees as assigned
- Supervise Student Engagement Coordinator
- Assist with the day to day operations of the Office of Student Engagement as needed (i.e., opening, closing, oversight of student staff, handling administrative duties and response to student concerns.
- Co Chair of Welcome Week and Weekend programming
Javelina Camp
- Execute program
- Hire and train executive board members and pack leaders
- Market program
- Coordinate schedule
Family Engagement
- Oversee the family association
- Collaborate with enrollment services to assist with communication to all Javelina families
- Oversee family weekend
- Coordinate family orientation
Minimum Requirements
Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience – Three years of related experience.
Knowledge of – Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills. Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
Supervision of Others
This position may supervise employees.
