Program Manager/Senior Program Manager, Ted-Ed Student Talks

Overview

The Program Manager/Senior Program Manager for the TED-Ed Student Talks program (formerly, TED-Ed Clubs) will lead TED’s initiative to help students everywhere share their own ideas in the form of short TED-style talks. This individual will have a passion and vision for celebrating the voices of young people, have a love for the operational side of program management, and work collaboratively across an entrepreneurial-spirited team.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Manage the maintenance and improvement of all systems (ie: content, application, account management) that help the program thrive at a global scale
• Work with the TED-Ed team to further the vision of a world in which every student, everywhere, has an opportunity to share their ideas as a TED-style talk
• Develop and execute a growth strategy for the program -- including community outreach, recruitment and developing ambassadors for youth voices and TED-Ed throughout the world
• Work closely with other program team leaders to ensure strategic alignment across all aspects of TED-Ed
• Use program feedback and evaluations to constantly understand, measure, and improve the program’s efficacy and overall user experience
• Increase visibility of TED-Ed’s student voice initiative through participation in high profile events and other external promotions
• Lead, manage and support the Student Talks team in establishing, pursuing and achieving program goals

Qualifications

Required

• Strong balance between operational and strategic thinking
• Time management skills—ability to set and meet deadlines for self and for team
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• 4+ years working in education and/or an educational nonprofit
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• 2+ years managing individual(s)
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills
• Comfortable communicating within a variety of international contexts

Preferred

• Experience writing and reviewing video-based content
• Event planning and execution experience
• Digital community management experience
