Job Description


The Program Director for Office of Violence Against Women's (OVW) Grant to Reduce Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence and Stalking on Campus works to implement comprehensive, coordinated responses to violent crimes on campus and support students with abuse they may be suffering in their lives outside of Trocaire. The Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with local law enforcement, justice agencies and internal partners to educate the campus community about these critical issues and implement a coordinated program to educate the community and manage the grant.


The Program Director must present leadership and excellent communication skills; ability to exchange ideas, facts, information, and opinions effectively and accurately with others; arrive at decisions, develop conclusions, or develop solutions; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population; ability to meet timelines and follow-through; ability to present materials effectively to individuals; demonstrate ethical conduct and professionalism; ability to handle issues in a highly confidential manner; establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, other departments, students, and the public; responsible for short-term and long-term planning.


Job-Specific Competencies


  • Strong writing and PC skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Prepare required grant reports in coordination with appropriate parties
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and produce a quality work product
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under the requirements of a grant-directed position
  • Demonstrated high level of organization with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes


Essential Job Functions


  • Manage an online platform that provides iVIP services and accessible materials related to interpersonal violence.
  • Manage security personnel iVIP training and resources for all Trocaire security personnel.
  • Manage the mandatory prevention and education for all incoming and transfer students
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintain professional knowledge required of the position.
  • Participate in appropriate external groups related to the subject matter including Crisis Services' Rape Advisory Taskforce and Sexual Assault Prevention & Compliance Task Force
  • Manage programing for college community each semester
  • Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.
  • Organize Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT), hold regular meetings with internal and external partners ensuring compliance with all program requirements
  • Deliver group and individual instruction and training covering a range of interpersonal violence areas to Trocaire employees.
  • Manage survivor support resources
  • Serve as team lead for all project activities
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure Enough is Enough compliance (Educational Law 129B)
  • Provide victim services and advocacy
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day activities for the OVW grant, including all communication with the Department of Justice (DOJ) OVW, budget oversight and interim and final reporting
  • Explore, select and implement a bystander and prevention education program
  • Coordinate, manage logistics and lead trainings/educational opportunities related to grant subject matter
  • Attend Department of Justice offsite technical assistance trainings


Minimum Qualifications


  • Ability to travel with dependable transportation
  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or related field
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, administration, community agencies and governing boards
  • Experience training and/or presenting to individuals and groups
  • 1-3 years' experience with victim services and advocacy


Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field
