Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Artist's Representative to join Garry Grant's team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fine art, specifically contemporary and abstract art, as well as African-American art. As an Artist's Representative, you will play a key role in managing Garry's work, extending his influence, and driving commercial success.
Key Responsibilities: Marketing and Client Relations
- Organize and host events and openings at Garry's studio and other influential
venues.
- Develop and distribute promotional materials via professionally produced cards or
emails.
- Maintain active promotion of Garry's work on social media channels and follow up
on all inquiries.
- Pursue museum exhibitions, commissions, institutional acquisitions, and
opportunities for group and solo exhibitions.
- Update, maintain, and expand a database of prospective clients including curators,
museum directors, dealers, and collectors
- Cultivate ongoing relationships with clients, providing them with information about
and access to the Artist, as necessary.
- Collaborate with the artist on setting art prices and maintaining an updated price
list.
Shipping and Logistics
- Arrange for packing, shipping, delivery, and installation of artwork, in collaboration
with licensed and insured vendors.
Financial and Transaction Records
- Process sales, pay sales tax, and send payment to the artist after commission
deductions.
- Issue a Form 1099 to the artist for tax preparation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong social media following and established relationships with art
- Minimum of 5 years of experience representing artists or other creative talent.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Detailed, organized, and commercially-focused.
- ·Familiarity with contracts, and legal and tax issues relevant to artists.
