Illinois Residency Requirement: This position requires Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date.
The Department of Equal Opportunity, Access and Title IX Coordination is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Program Coordinator. This position will oversee annual mandated student training on sexual violence prevention and develop ongoing training resources and community outreach/awareness activities to support prevention and raise awareness of responsive resources. Position will also coordinate campus climate survey project (as mandated by the Illinois Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act). Position will also serve as liaison with Metro East Every Survivor Counts (confidential advisor resource for persons affected by sexual violence).
Specifically, This Position Support The Following Compliance Tasks
  • Coordination of meetings of Coordinated Community Care Response Team
  • Annual sexual assault prevention training for new and returning students
  • Campus survey activities relating to incidents and impacts of sexual violence
These compliance activities in turn support student safety by empowering students with information that they can use to reduce risks of sexual violence, by empowering the university with data to support campus and community partners in their ongoing efforts to develop effective prevention and responsive strategies. Furthermore, the Program Coordinator will review curricular requirements for annual student training as mandated by the Illinois Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act and develop curricular updates as necessary work with module vendor/instructional design team on module creation/updates. The qualified candidate will Assess accommodation requests for students who seek alternative training facilitate alternative training as well as track completion of training trouble-shoot barriers to completion and follow up to enforce completion requirements through registration holds. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will develop ongoing sexual violence/discrimination prevention resources, in the form of communication campaigns, program initiatives, and support for student organization training activities. Further duties will be added based on the needs of the department.
This position is a current civil service vacancy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and will be closed to applicants at 11:59 pm CST, on the posting end date. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree; one year of experience working in sexual assault prevention programming, project coordination, curriculum development in higher ed or non-profit organization, and general knowledge of legislation relevant to sexual misconduct prevention and education on college campuses
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in related field (psychology, social work, counseling)
