Job Description
Summary


As a Program Assistant (OA) at the GS-0303-6, you will be part of Washington Field Office, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will be responsible for processing information about the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program, and performing a variety of other administrative tasks to support the ADR Program.

Duties


  • Composes correspondence and other similar documents in draft form and prepares formatted replies as necessary for the signature of the coordinator, Director or designated staff.
  • Receives and maintains a log of incoming correspondence. Prioritizes the mail and routes it to the appropriate staff member for action.
  • Performs a variety of duties such as researching data, reviewing and organizing materials, compiling files, extracting facts from reports and collecting relevant information from internal and external sources.
  • Types a variety of materials such as office reports, memoranda and letters using office automation equipment.
  • Maintains a master calendar of ADR activities, including mediations and other events relating to the mediation program. Receives visitors and telephone call to the office and refers to the appropriate staff member.
  • Provides customer service support related to the invitation and scheduling of parties to participate in the mediation program, including generating necessary confirmation letters, notices and reports.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
  • Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation
  • Must be able to type 40 words per minute.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period


Qualifications


For the GS-6: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service performing such duties as gathering, acquiring, and developing resource materials and other information to support the program mission of an organization, providing information to organizational staff, compiling reports on research conducted, and maintaining administrative records. Receiving and processing documents and data/statistical information in accordance with established procedures; reviewing documents and reports for completeness and entering information into an automated tracking system; or performing database file searches.
