Title: Program Assistant - CCFH
$21.00 - $28.35 / Posted Thru: 5-9-23

Work location: Remote – Must be a Michigan Resident

Purpose: Center for Child and Family Health (CCFH) house a variety of work including the Michigan Child Death Review (CDR) Program and the Overdose Fatality Review (OFR) Program. The Program Assistant will supply broadened administrative and clerical support for overall center or program related public health projects. To be successful as a Program Assistant, individual must have a wide understanding and experience with individual project needs and overall program objectives that support specific project related work within a center. Primary tasks include supporting the financial tasks, documentation management, note taking, and other methods to support the logistical processes related to projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Document Management Responsibilities
  • Support the timely completion of required project quarterly reporting by working with staff to gather information and entering reports into online collection system.
  • Create, save, and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Assist with managing, collecting, and submitting all project materials for MPHI’s project library and internal review board.
  • Generate, input, edit, and proofread reports, correspondence, charts, graphs, and other documents using word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Track, update, and save confidential and sensitive documents received by CCFH.

Other Program Support Responsibilities
  • Support staff in meeting program goals.
  • Collect and enter program evaluation data as needs arise through Survey Monkey
  • Actively participate in program trainings, program or project team meetings, and Center staff meetings as needed.
  • Assist Financial Analyst to complete purchase orders, expense reimbursement forms, and other financial tasks.
  • Understand and uphold MPHI’s Core Values of Servant Leadership, Health Equity and Social Justice, Authentic Relationships, and Quality and Excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in ongoing strategic planning for the program and company.
  • Maintain a positive, strong, credible, professional relationship with all parties for multiple MPHI projects, and always represent the best interest of MPHI.
  • Coordinate building and remote worker needs with MPHI Facilities staff.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree in public health, Social Work, Health Education, or related field required.

Experience: A minimum of one to three years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in project management, community assessment and development, and research and educational methods.

  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and other types of cloud-based and collaboration applications (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Virtual Meetings, Google Drive).

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Job may require moderate physical effort including lifting materials and equipment of <50# and involves viewing a CRT or VDT screen 25% to 75% o f the time. Standard office environment. May require valid vehicle operator’s license where needed to perform duties of the position.
