Professional Tutor-Accounting And Finance (Part Time)

Meets with students individually or in small groups to provide academic support related to course content, course-related readings and course-related written assignments so students can successfully complete their coursework; as well as provides instruction, teaching and guidance in the area of academic success skills

Essential Job Functions

• Administers individualized tests to students with accommodations
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Tutors students in the area of academic success skills (e.g. learning strategies, time management, etc.)
• Tutors students on specific course content, course-related readings and course-related written assignments
• Coordinates tutoring goals with advisers, academic counselors and faculty to effectively meet student needs
• Attends tutor training sessions and staff meetings, as applicable

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field of study

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with teaching/tutoring students with various learning styles and abilities
• Experience working with college students in entry-level through advanced accounting and finance courses
• Accounting and finance knowledge and experience, including financial and managerial accounting, personal budgeting and planning, as well as experience with accounting software
• Experience with teaching, professional tutoring or other related experience
